Wine Festival set for Feb. 5

CLEARFIELD — The Groundhog Wine Festival 2022 will be held from 1 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, at the Expo II Building, 5615 Park St.

The event, which is organized by Starr Hill Winery, will include more than 15 winners and more than 30 vendors, entertainment and much more.

Tickets are $10 for designated driver, $25 for session 1 or 2, or $48 for both sessions. Group rates are available. Online fees may apply. Tickets are available at centralpatickets.com.

BG presents awards

Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic High School presented the following students with the President’s Education Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence.

The recipients are: Joel Craig, Blane Davidson, Leah Homan, Madison Hooper, Marisa Hooper, Seth Kirby, Katelyn Krish, Brennan Myrick, Meghan Norris, Sophia Simanski and Dane VanHorn.

Students must rank in the top 15% of class based on end of the junior year cumulative grade point average. They must exhibit discipline and drive to excel academically and demonstrate the characteristics that positively reflect Bishop Guilfoyle.

They must receives recommendation by 75% of the recommending faculty.
