50 years ago: The Proctor Silex Plant on Rt. 220, Bellmeade, Faust N. Campagnoli manager, which manufactured 2,200 electric blenders daily, received the Quality Assurance Certificate from Montgomery Ward.

25 years ago: The Blair County Commissioners were to purchase a house in Hollidaysburg from Dallas and Jacquelin Webster to make room to build a county parking garage on the site. The commissioners had first considered eminent domain to take the property.

10 years ago: The Altoona Mirror, Ray Eckenrode general manager, announced that Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Blair County would be the recipients of this year’s Season of Sharing fundraiser, the seventh year of the Mirror program.
