Cresson Lake Playhouse sets shows

Frolic, fun and festivities are on tap as Cresson Lake Playhouse helps usher in the holiday season with a cabaret, tree toss and community choir concert.

As part of Ebensburg’s “Dickens of a Christmas” celebration, CLP will present a Christmas Cabaret at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 2 and Dec. 3 at the Ebensburg Courthouse, 200 S. Center St., in Ebensburg. Audiences will hear area singers present holiday numbers, dances, skits and a carol sing-along. Tickets are $10 for ages 13 and up and $5 for ages 12 and under and are available at the door or by calling 814-472-4333.

On Saturday, Dec. 4, Cresson Lake Playhouse will hold a Tree Toss in Penn Eben Park on West High Street in Ebensburg from noon to 2 p.m. Participants are invited to show up and toss a Christmas tree as far as possible to win a prize. The event includes a team category this year with no limit on team size since tosses are averaged together.

After the Tree Toss, the Santa Pub Crawl will begin in Penn Eben Park at 2 pm. Participants can pre-register for the event. Registration will entitle participants to specialty drinks at local Ebensburg establishments, the chance to win free drinks, entry into the grand prize drawing and new this year, a post-party after the crawl including live music and free food at the Ebensburg Moose. At 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, the Cresson Lake Playhouse Community Choir will present its holiday concert at the Cresson Legion, 222 Ashcroft Ave., Cresson. Paul Seymour is the director of the choir that includes about 60 adults and teens. The concert is free to the public, but donations will be accepted.
