An Altoona Area Public Library program called “60 Minutes of Film” was showing the original 1916 films of the Jules Verne novels, “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” and “The Mysterious Island.” There was no admission charge but attendees had to be age 16 or older.

The Logan Township Supervisors, James Patterson recreation chairman, were considering using a $25,800 grant from the Central Blair Recreation Commission to develop a park on a 66-acre site between Sandy Run Road and Sixth Avenue in Greenwood.
