ArtsAltoona after school program begins

ArtsAltoona will kick off the fall 2021 After School Arts Program season with two events for local students. Both events are free and will be held at the ArtsAltoona Center, 2212 Sixth Ave., Altoona.

A youth craft kickoff will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, and is geared toward students in elementary school. It will feature crafts and games.

A movie night for middle and high school students will be held from 8 to 10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23.

The movie will be “Black Widow” and popcorn and drinks will be served for this outdoor event.

Parking is located behind the ArtsAltoona buildings, with additional parking available nearby.

Learning @ the Library set to start

The Learning @ the Library preschool program held at the Claysburg Library will begin this school year today,

Sept. 13.

The program, for 3- to 5-year-olds, will be held at 6 p.m. Mondays and 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays.

All participants will be required to wear masks. Lessons may be taken home.
