Donations needed for Stuff the Bus
Registration for distribution due by July 30
The Family Resource Center at United Way of Blair County is seeking donations of supplies for the Stuff the Bus Campaign.
Donations will be accepted until July 30.
On July 30, volunteers from the Family Resource Center and United Way will pick up items at the various locations, after which volunteers will sort and pack the items for distribution.
Registration is now open for Blair County students to receive supplies.
Distribution for Stuff the Bus will be on Aug. 5 at the Family Resource Center at United Way:
Parents and area agencies may register children until July 30 by calling 814-317-5108 to make an appointment.
To be eligible, Blair County students must be entering kindergarten through 12th grade with a need in the family for help with school supplies.
Those registering students must provide parent or guardian name, child’s age, gender and grade entering. Students must be registered with an appointment time to receive supplies.
For those wishing to donate, new school supplies can be accepted through July 29 at the following sites: Bellwood-Antis Public Library, Contact Altoona, Hollidaysburg Area Public Library, M&T Bank (West Plank Road branch), Roaring Spring Public Library, United Way of Blair County and Family Resource Center.
Other participants include: Altoona Sunrise Rotary, Blair County Pennsylvania School Retirees, Contact Altoona, The Everett Railroad Company, Faith United Church of Christ, Lakemont Park, Ward Transport & Logistics and Veeder Root.
Supplies needed include: pencils, pencil boxes, construction paper, notebook paper and notebooks, folders, binders, glue sticks and glue, crayons, markers, kid’s scissors and scissors, erasers, rulers and back packs.
