Dorcas Temple No. 129 Daughters of the Nile recently voted to present $1,200 to each of the Pennsylvania Shriners Children’s Hospitals.

The money is to be used toward a project of their choosing.

Queen Jaclyn Grove presented a check to Noble Troy Harding, Erie Shriner’s Hospital representative.

She then presented a check to Assistant Rabban Chris Ritchey, Philadelphia Shriner’s Hospital representative.

Also taking part in the presentation were Princess Royal Robin Nixon and Past Queen Beverly Harris.

Dorcas Temple has many fundraisers during the year, including making chocolate candy, selling lottery tickets and working concessions at the Altoona Curve baseball games to help support the hospitals.

Members say their greatest joy is “helping our Shriners in their endeavor to keep the hospitals in operation and free to all children in need.”
