Inkwell to hold Zoom meeting on March 2
The monthly meeting of the Inkwell will be held at 6 p.m. March 2 live via Zoom with guest speaker author Hilary Hauck conducting the live-stream workshop “All Is Lost.”
Hauck will explore that bit in your story when your hero hits rock bottom. Participants will answer questions like: Does my hero have to get into trouble? Is she in a deep enough rock bottom? Can’t she just walk away? What’s a whiff of death and do I need one? Learn how elevating the pain can keep your readers turning the pages.
Though the All is Lost moment is a fiction concept, it may help non-fiction writers to raise the tension.
Hauck is an Italian-speaking Brit living in the U.S. Her publications include poetry, articles, and short stories. Slated for 2020 release, her debut novel, “From Ashes the Song,” is a historical novel about a young musician who, after losing his grandfather and the family vineyard in Italy, looks for a new start in the coal mines of Pennsylvania.
Inspired by her travels, Hauck uses writing and photography to explore the cultural and sensorial lenses through which people experience the world.
The Inkwell meetings are open to all writers, from beginner to published.
