The Studio on 5th’s (TSO5) Competition Team has recently completed its 2019-20 season with some big wins.

The team was excited to receive the opportunity to compete again in October, after having their competitive season cut short in March.

The dancers performed their numbers in three competitions over the course of 2020 and took top honors at all of them.

The studio is in its sixth year of business, providing dance instruction to the youth of the community.

The Studio on 5th was named Top Studio by Encore DCS in West Virginia. This is awarded to the studio with the highest scoring group numbers out of the entire competition.

Over the course of the season, the dancers have received the following medals: 46 Platinums, 18 Diamonds, four Rubies and one Elite Gold -the latter three named being almost perfect scores.

The team received 40 first-place overall high scores with seven of those being highest scores of the entire competition.

Other honors include two Superstar Awards, three Overall Choreography Awards, a Most Entertaining Award, four Performance Awards, four Showstopper Awards, 13 Special Judges Awards and a Photogenic Win.

TSO5 has six Title Holders and had two dancers singled out as Outstanding Dancers at a competition in the spring.

“We are so happy to have won all of these great awards,” said Kaitlyn Hallinan, director.

“But the best opportunity that we have been given this competition season was to be able to give $250 to the Central PA Humane Society.”

Anyone interested in enrollment for the 2020-21 season can contact the studio at 505-2697 or send a message through its website, www.thestudioon5th.com.
