Leonard Alwine of Altoona submitted this photo from Labor Day 1959. Grandview Fire Company took first and second place in the pumping contest at Lakemont. Later in the parade, the first-place team rode Engine No. 1, a 1958 White. Members were driver Cloyd Forsht, William Parks (in cab), Sue and Sally Smith (on top, holding trophy), old Bud Gable on side, John Forsht and Gallen Murray (on rear steps). The second-place team was on Grandview’s Engine No. 2, a 1936 Diamond T driven by young Buddy Gable. The names of the other members are unknown. Alwine is former Grandview Fire Chief.
