Bikers for Barkers changes to self-guided ride

Event set for July 18

The 2020 Bikers for Barkers Charity Motorcycle Run to benefit the Central PA Humane Society will take place July 18. This year’s ride will take riders on a scenic 100-mile ride through the mountains of Blair and Cambria counties.

Due to the safety restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 virus, however, the format for this year’s ride will differ from previous years.

Event chair Tamsen Nuss explains further, “The COVID-19 pandemic forced us to make some significant changes to our usual Bikers for Barkers Charity Motorcycle Run.

“This year’s ride is somewhat different from our previous rides. It also has a different name: Bikers 4 Barkers Cruisin’ 4 Clues. When riders register at Roundhouse Harley-Davidson, they will be given written route directions and will be free to travel at their own pace.

“As they navigate this self-guided ride, they may also search for clues along the route, then turn in their answers for a chance to win prizes.

“We hope that the biker community will come out and support us, as they have generously done in the past. The animals need everyone’s support more this year than ever before.”

Cruisin’ 4 Clues is being held in conjunction with the Roundhouse Harley-Davidson Summer Concert Series.

The ride begins and ends at Roundhouse Harley Davidson, Route 764 in Duncansville. All riders are invited to enjoy the Summer Concert Series, with This Albatross at 4 p.m. and Rock of Ages at 7 p.m.
