Bedford kicks off Daffodil Days
BEDFORD — The American Cancer Society Daffodil Days are back and ready to help Bloom HOPE in the community.
Orders are being accepted for daffodil bunches, mini daffodil pots, tulip bunches and new for this year, chocolate lollipops from Bedford Candies.
If your business, church, organization or school would like more information or to place an order, contact any Relay For Life of Bedford County team or any of the volunteers at 494-1809, 839-2760 or 979-1287.
All proceeds support the American Cancer Society.
HASD sets registration for 2020-21
HOLLIDAYSBURG — Hollidaysburg Area School District has announced the dates for its kindergarten and first grade for the 2020-21 school year.
Children who are 5 years old before Sept. 1 are eligible for kindergarten.
Children who are 6 years old before Sept. 1 are eligible for first grade.
Parents/guardians should call the appropriate school for information and an appointment.
Foot of Ten Elementary — Feb. 10 and 11, 695-1941.
Frankstown Elementary — Feb. 20 and 21, 695-4961.
Charles W. Longer Elementary — Feb. 18 and 19, 695-4431.
Students currently enrolled in kindergarten at HASD do not need to register for first grade.
SFU Outreach to visit Quaint Corner
The Saint Francis University Rural Outreach Chemistry for Kids program will visit A Quaint Corner Children’s Museum & Discovery Center on three in-service dates (various school districts) this winter.
These fun activities are included with museum admission ($5 per person) and free for members.
Participants can come and go during the two hours of repeated activities. The museum will be open to explore from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
2 to 4 p.m. Friday, noon to 2 p.m. Feb. 14 and 2 to 4 p.m. March 13.
A Quaint Corner Children’s Museum & Discovery Center is at 2000 Union Ave. Altoona.
