Basket bingo to benefit local kids

A basket bingo will be held Nov. 30 at the Jewish Memorial Center, Altoona.

Doors will open at 4 p.m., and those who take a $5 to $7 toy to the event get a free book of specials.

There will be a wide array of prizes, from Steelers and other themed baskets to kitchen, and Disney baskets, and a Kate Spade purse and wallet — all donated by special friends and local businesses. Every person must have a paid admission and be playing the games.

Restaurant gift certificates, along with door prizes and the opportunity to buy chances on a 50-inch TV to be drawn at a later date.

Tickets to the basket bingo can be bought at the door and are $20 each or at the bakery in Greenwood and Schraff’s pizza near the campus or by contacting Sherry at 931-7655.

Proceeds will benefit the “Santa Comes to Town” event, which will be held from |2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 7. That event has been very successful in the past. The children get a gift from Santa, ages infant to 13, and a hot meal, cookies, crafts, shopping and games with the DJ.

Mickey, Minnie and Marshall from Paw Patrol will be there for pictures.

The Basket Bingo and Santa Comes to Town are open to walk-ins.
