‘Voices of Altoona’ concert set for Nov. 7

More than 150 vocalists will perform in the “Voices of Altoona” Concert at

7 p.m. Nov. 7 in the Altoona Area High School auditorium.

The high school and junior high school will be represented by the Altoona Area High School Vocal Ensemble and the Altoona Area Junior High Vocal Ensemble, respectively.

All eight Altoona Area School District elementary schools will be represented by fifth- and sixth-grade members of the All City Chorus.

The evening will begin with a performance by the AAHS Vocal Ensemble under the direction of Kelly Sipes.

The AAJHS Vocal Ensemble, under the direction of Jessica Connell, will perform three Beatles favorites.

Kristin delGiudice, Jamie Hillard and Teri Myers will direct the 100-plus elementary All City Chorus as they sing a variety of selections including Toto’s “Africa,” Joyce Eliers’ “A Voice From a Dream” and Tom Shelton’s “Animal Imagination,” among other popular favorites.

All 150-plus singers will combine for a stirring version of “Power of One” about how one person can make a difference in the lives of the people around them.

Tickets are $3 and will be sold at the door beginning at 6 p.m.

Children ages 5 and younger will be admitted free.
