Used book sale

The Friends of the Altoona Area Public Library will hold its fall used book sale from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday on the ground floor of the library. There are no Sunday hours. Monday is $5-a-bag day. Friends members are invited to the preview sale from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Wear a Halloween costume and get a free book. Friends volunteers getting ready for the sale include (from left): Alice Balest, Ron Balest, Elizabeth Lloyde, Paty Gentsch, Brenda Houdeshell, Mary Shumaker, Linda Bistline, Daisy Costanza and Steve Stahl. The book sales offer very affordable books of all kinds including adult fiction, children’s books, bestsellers, classics, nonfiction such as travel, art, history, home repair, genealogy, health, science, crafts, language and true crime. The sale also includes puzzles, DVDs, CDs, audiobooks, patterns, games and more. All money raised benefits the library.
