Healthy Resolutions Expo set for Nov. 8
The Healthy Blair County Coalition will hold its third annual Healthy Resolutions Expo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 8 at the Logan Valley Mall, Altoona.
The expo provides opportunities for attendees to meet resolution experts and learn how to be successful in achieving New Year resolutions.
The expo is a product of the Healthy Blair County Coalition, to educate communities on the dangers of tobacco and substance abuse. The conversation then lead into the New Year being a popular time for many to quit bad habits that may have formed, which soon lead to the Healthy Resolutions Expo.
At the expo, attendees will have the opportunity to discuss a wide variety of health and wellness topics with vendors who can share great resources and information. The Logan Valley Mall will host the third annual event, with The Lung Disease Foundation of Central PA sponsoring the event.
This year’s theme is all about making the year yours and realizing you have a choice to control over your health and wellness.
“Many of us think about making New Year resolutions, but then get busy with life and forget to make plans on how we are going to get started,” said Coleen Heim, director of the Healthy Blair County Coalition. “We want this to be the year our community makes the choice to learn about how they can follow through with their resolutions.
“Our expo vendors include an impressive group of health and wellness experts who can help.”
Vendors will include: the Lung Disease Foundation of Central Pennsylvania; Conemaugh-Nason Hospital Center; UPMC Altoona; Tyrone Regional Health Network; Blair Drug and Alcohol; Blair Senior Services Inc.; ENT Hearing Solutions and ENT Associates of Central PA; Select Specialty Hospital; Altoona Center for Clinical Research, and CONTACT Altoona.
The vendors will share ideas, information and services to help attendees succeed in resolutions to volunteer more, take care of their hearing, stay healthy with exercise and healthy eating, take care and pamper their skin, avoid substance abuse and alcohol, prioritize their bone health, and more.
The expo is free for attendees who will receive Resolution Pledge Cards to commit their resolutions and make them eligible to win door prizes, receive handouts, and have free screenings.
The Healthy Blair County Coalition is a partnership of local individuals and organizations working to promote the social, economic, emotional and physical well being of the Blair County community.
