Blair Health and Welfare Council awards grants

Next round of grant applications are due

At the May meeting of the Blair County Health and Welfare Council, grants were awarded to two local organizations for programs that will help to enhance the health and well-being of Blair County residents.

Grants were awarded to projects for support of the Mountain Lion Backpack Program and to assist with transportation needs of clients of Family Services Inc.’s Victims Services programs.

The council currently has grant opportunities available for member organizations to promote the general health and welfare of Blair County residents.

The council provides competitive grants to council member organizations for services, programs and events provided for Blair County residents that reflect the mission of the council and address an identified community need.

Current membership must be paid by Oct. 25 to be considered for a grant. Grant applications are due by

4 p.m. Oct. 25.

Grant applications are only available at www.blairhealthandwelfare.org.

Grants will be awarded at the January 2020 Health and Welfare Council meeting.

Funds must be expended by June 30, 2020.
