Lt. Col. Angela (Luciano) Edmondson recently graduated with distinction from the National Defense University (NDU) at Fort Lesley McNair in Washington, D.C., with a master’s degree in national security.

Upon graduation, she assumed her duties at The Pentagon.

Edmondson is a 1998 graduate of Altoona Area High School and a 2002 distinguished graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy.

Prior to graduation from NDU, she served at Headquarters Pacific Air Forces; directorate of logistics, flight line maintenance officer and commander of the 55th Maintenance Squadron at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska; directorate of installations at Osan Air Force Base, South Korea; and at Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan.

She worked with RC 135, F-16 and F15C aircraft.

She and her husband, Lt. Col. Mike Edmondson, live in Alexandria, Va.

They have two children: Dominic and Grace.

Angela is the daughter of Phil and Nancy Luciano of Altoona.


U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Travis W. Yazzie graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Yazzie earned distinction as an honor graduate.

He is the son of Kathy and Will Yazzie of Warriors Mark Township.

The airman is a 2019 graduate of Tyrone Area High School.
