In 2018, the Cove Cause for Cancer, or the CCC, began its grassroots effort with its only focus being to raise funds to help support members of our local communities who are going through a “cancer journey” and need extra financial support.

The group focuses its efforts on raising funds to be donated to local voucher programs where cancer patients are able to apply for assistance with expenses during their “cancer journey.”

Throughout the year, the group offers several opportunities to participate in fundraisers, such as 200 Clubs, bingos, black tie dinners, auctions and more.

“Journey Groups” (church groups, civic groups, schools, families, work groups or just a group of friends) meet at 7 p.m. on the second Thursday of each odd month at the Morrison’s Cove Memorial Park banquet hall.

During their inaugural year, the group will donate the majority of funds raised to The Bob Perks Fund of State College and to Girls Night Out of Altoona.

The Bob Perks Cancer Assistance Fund helps ease the financial burden of individuals and families in our community who are battling cancer by providing funding for basic necessities so their focus is on treatment and recovery.

The donations to Girls Night Out will go to Breast Cancer Research at Penn State Hershey Medical Center.
