ERIC M. AYERS

U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Eric M. Ayers, formerly of Martinsburg, was awarded the White House Military Office Outstanding Member of the Year for 2018 on April 30 at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building in Washington, D.C.

SAMANTHA L. WATERHOUSE

U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Samantha L. Waterhouse graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Waterhouse is the daughter of Heidi and Richard Waterhouse of Ebensburg.

She is a 2014 graduate of Central Cambria High School, Ebensburg.

MICAH N. YON

U.S. Air Force Airman Micah N. Yon graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.

Yon is the son of Heather E. and Sam W. McCready of Hollidaysburg and husband of Jordyn Yon of Altoona.

He is a 2016 graduate of Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School.

FRANCIS HARTNETT IV

U.S. Air Force Major Francis ‘Frank’ Hartnett IV graduated from Air Command and Staff College at Maxwell Air Force Base, Montgomery, Ala.

Hartnett completed an intensive, 10-month graduate-level program that included training in leadership, international relations, war planning and airpower history.

Hartnett is the son of Maj. Francis Hartnett III (USAF-Ret.) and Beverlie Hartnett of Duncansville.

He is a 2001 graduate of Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School and a 2005 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh.
