Paws In the Park set this weekend
MARTINSBURG — The fourth annual Paws In the Park to benefit the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society will be held Saturday and Sunday at Morrisons Cove Memorial Park.
The weekend will start with a “Stray Dog Strut 5K/2K Run/Walk. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the park, and the race to follow at 8:30 a.m.
Paw Medals will be given for first, second and third place according to age groups. The fun continues with shows by the Frisbee catching Disc-Connected K9s and the Acrobatic Pooch Gang from Circus Stella.
Paws In the Park is a fun weekend to come out and bring your two- and four-legged kids. There will be vendors, a bounce house with kids’ games and a chicken barbecue. Dinners will be $10 each including a drink. There’s also a car show on Father’s Day as well.
For every $10 donation made to the shelter, Morrisons Cove Memorial Park will be donating use of the pool, roller skating and bowling as well.
The Central PA Humane Society will be showing off some adoptable animals that weekend. They will be strutting their stuff in a “Rescue Me” harness.
Paws In the Park gets bigger and better each year to help support the fur babies awaiting their “furever” home. Money raised at this event goes directly to help fund the work of the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society.
The shelter does not euthanize healthy, adoptable animals. No animal is euthanized for illness that can be treated, behavior that can be modified or length of stay.
