Wheels for Meals to provide backpacks

The Mountain Lion BackPack Program will hold a fundraising event, “Wheels for Meals: Car, Motorcycle and Truck Show,” from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 24 at Peoples Natural Gas Field VIP Lot.

Event organizers are seeking vendors for crafts, home party businesses and food. Vendor spaces are available for $35. Vendor spaces are a first-come, first-serve basis and only one vendor per home party business will be allowed.

In addition to vendors, organizers are seeking participants to show their antique/classic car, motorcycle or truck. Vehicle early registration is $25 and day-of registration is $35. Cash prize awards will be awarded for best in show for the categories of car, motorcycle and truck, along with runner-ups in each category.

Proceeds from Wheels for Meals benefit the Mountain Lion BackPack Program and purchasing food to provide to AASD elementary students in need over the weekends during the 2019-20 school year.

The program feeds an average of 1,000 elementary students during the school year from October to May.
