HOLLIDAYSBURG — The Hollidaysburg Area School District has received a $9,980 STEM grant from the Toshiba America Foundation.

These funds will provide wireless sensors and other classroom materials that will be used by high school physics students for a project called Science is for Sharing.

Using sensors that interface with student Chromebooks and comput-ers, students participating in

the project will learn how to design simple demonstrations that help

correct common misconceptions related to science.

Hands-on activities in the classroom will help students enrich their own understanding as they develop ideas for illustrating these concepts to others. The project is the result of a proposal submitted by high school physics teacher Paul Longwell.
