Bellwood library sets activities for May
BELLWOOD — The Bellwood-Antis Public Library has announced its May activities.
n Baby Sprouts is the library’s Toddler Time for children ages 18 months to 3 years. It will be held at 10:30 a.m. every Thursday through May 30. After May 30, Baby Sprouts will take a two-week break and return at 10:30 a.m. June 20 for Summer Sprouts. Summer Sprouts will continue every Thursday through Aug. 15.
n The library will present a free Sensory Saturday Story Time especially for children ages 2 and up with autism, special needs and sensory concerns at noon Saturday. Children must be accompanied by a caregiver. Each child will receive a free book from the Central PA Autism Society for attending.
n The Bellwood-Antis Historical Society will present a free program by Andy Smith on the history of the Pennsylvania Railroad at 7 p.m. Monday. Meetings are open to the public.
n The Juniata Valley Audubon Society will meet May 21 at the library. A free dinner will be served at 6 p.m., followed by a program at 7 p.m. This month, the society will present “Dare 2B Tick Aware.” Meetings are open to the public.
n Tai Chi is a gentle and slow practice with numerous health benefits. This summer Blair Senior Services will present free Tai Chi classes for individuals age 60 and older. Sign up at the checkout desk or by messaging the library on Facebook. Classes will be held at 1 p.m. Wednes-days from June 12 to July 31.
The library will be closed on May 25 and 27 in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.
