Adult Education Program seeks tutors

The Altoona Area School District Adult Education Program is accepting applications for tutors to assist adults in preparing for the high school equivalency (GED or HiSET), learn English as a second language or brush up on math, reading and/or language skills.

Volunteers receive training that is designed to provide the applicant with the skills and knowledge necessary to tutor adults.

No experience is necessary. Tutors meet with their learners three hours per week and receive free ongoing professional development trainings.

Summer Craft Show slated in June

WOODBURY — The 13th annual Kathy’s Kountry Cricket Summer Craft Show will be Held from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. June 6 and 7 and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 8 and 15 at the old 1800s log cabin at 214 Potter Creek Road.

Items are handmade by local craftsmen and most are one-of-a-kind and very unique.

There are dried floral arrangements, old items, hand-painted items, stitched and quilted items, dip and dried food mixes and samples.
