Tyrone Hospital recognizes volunteers

TYRONE — Tyrone Hospital volunteers were recognized for their hours of service in 2017 during a special recognition event held at Tyrone Hospital during National Hospital Week in May.

In 2017, nine volunteers collectively donated 817 hours to support the hospital. Volunteers assisted at the hospital’s main registration desk and with clerical tasks to support a variety of hospital departments including the emergency department, short procedure unit, pre-anesthesia clinic, medical surgical unit, marketing, the Tyrone Regional Health Network Foundation and others.

New volunteer Marylin Hopkins was welcomed to the volunteer program in the first quarter of 2018.

Volunteers who were recognized and their hours of service and years in the volunteer program are as follows:

n Constance Baker, 144 hours in 2017 and grand total hours 2,700 with more than 14 years of service.

n Carol Louden, 143 hours in 2017 and more than one year of service.

n Merle Louise Ammerman, 91 hours in 2017 and grand total hours 892 and more than eight years of service.

n Roberta Scott, 69 hours in 2017 and 219 grand total hours with more than two years of service.

n Martha Golden, 56 hours in 2017 and grand total hours 109 with more than three years of service.

n Angela Wilkins, 22 hours of service.

n Emily Baran, 104 hours.
