Gretta D. Ghaner of Duncansville was one of 14 graduates awarded the doctor of optometry accelerated scholars program degree from Salus University Pennsylvania College of Optometry at the 114th commencement ceremony on May 24 at the Kimmel Center for Performing Arts, Philadelphia.

She is a 2011 graduate of Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School and earned a bachelor of science degree in biology with minors in accounting, business administration and education from Saint Francis University, Loretto, in 2015.

She is a member of Beta Sigma Kappa, an international optometric honor society.

Dr. Ghaner will be married on July 21 and is currently practicing at Associates in Family Eyecare, Richland Township, with her married name as Dr. Gretta Brown, O.D.

She is the daughter of Preston and Catherine Ghaner of Duncans-

ville.
