“Journey Around Lake Conemaugh” Van Tour, daily through Sept. 30, 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Reservations are encouraged, but not required. There is no fee for the van tours.
Prince Gallitzin State Park, Patton, 674-1005
Bat Count, 8 p.m. Friday, meet at the old barn on Long Road and follow signs for parking. Take a blanket or folding chair for seating and a flashlight for the return walk.
Survival Series: Front Yard Foraging, 3 p.m. Saturday, amphitheater. Join the park naturalist for a short walk to identify common edible and medicinal plants.
Moon Madness for Kids, 7 p.m. Saturday, amphitheater Children ages 4-12 and their families will learn about the moon, enjoy a story and activities and sample a moon snack.
Full Moon Hike, 8:30 p.m. Saturday, meet near the Beaver Valley marina restroom. Wear sturdy, closed-toes shoes for this walk along Bollinger Trail to Pickerel Pond.
Fish Frenzy, 10:30 a.m. Sunday, amphitheater. Learn about the things that make fish special, create a fish print and learn how to identify fish at Glendale Lake.
Nature at the Pond, 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, nature table at Pickerel Pond. Find out how to identify some common wild animal tracks.
Shawnee State Park, 132 State Park Road, Schellsburg, 733-4218
“Stalking the Natives of Wild Pennsylvania,” 7 p.m. Sunday, Historic & Interpretive Center, free presentation. Participants will learn interesting tales and misconceptions about plants.
