Roaring Spring library sets programs for June, July

ROARING SPRING — The Roaring Spring Com-munity Library, 320 E. Main St., has announced its activities for June and July. Library hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday Tuesday and Thursday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday. The library will be closed on July 4.

June 11 — RSCL Summer Reading Kick Off at 5 p.m. at Peoples Natural Gas Field in Altoona. Stop by the library’s table on the concourse for giveaways, prizes and to pick up a summer reading log.

June 13 — Welcome Altoona Curve players as guest readers at 10 a.m.

June 20 — Blair/Clear-field Association for the Blind mascot Reckless with vision screening at

10 a.m.

June 27 — Guest reader Carolyn Donaldson at 10 a.m.

July 11 — Summer Reading Suzanne Black from Blair County Conservation District at 10 a.m.

July 18 — Blair County Dairy Princess as guest reader with a dairy-related activity at 10 a.m.

July 25 — Katrina Pope, Intermunicipal Relations Committee education and enforcement coordinator, for a recycling activity at 10 a.m.

June 15 and 29 — Art on the Porch with Miss Paula Miller at 12:30 p.m. All ages of children are welcome to participate.

Little Sprouts (infants to 24 months with adult) — starting June 13 at 10 a.m. Enjoy stories, songs and playtime with your little one every Tuesday morning.

Block Play (all ages) — 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Mondays. Constructive fun with wooden blocks, play animals, vehicles and people!

Lego my Library Summer Challenge Club (ages 6 and older) — 11 a.m. Thursdays. Imagine, build design and play with Miss Jen.

Central Allegheny Lyme Disease Support Group — 6 p.m. June 14. If struggling with Lyme disease speaking with others who have the disease can be helpful. For more information, contact Brenda Fredrick at chalkylyme

June 16 — Essential Oils: Detox and Cleanse your Body will be held at 6 p.m. Candy Feathers will discuss how to eliminate harmful toxins in your body.

Knitting and Crochet Group — 6 p.m. Wednes-days. Whether you have been knitting for decades or just days join this welcoming group. Take your current project. Call the Library for more information.

Friends of the Library Beach Reads — In the Book Cellar, get ready for the vacation with lots of Beach Reads. Fill a bag for $3 or two for $5.

Donations are accepted at the Book Cellar, located in the library, during library hours.
