The Mirror announces the following guidelines for Couples announcements:
For free engagement and wedding announcements, couples or their parents must have lived in the Mirror coverage area. The city must be designated.
Engagement stories should be submitted at least six weeks before the wedding.
Wedding stories should be submitted within six months after the wedding or as soon as possible.
For free anniversary announcements, the couple must have lived in the Mirror coverage area. The city must be designated. Free announcements can be published in five-year increments starting with the 25th anniversary.
Couples who are celebrating their anniversary should submit their information in a timely fashion after the event or at least one month before an open house.
The Mirror will publish the names and towns of the couple’s children (and their spouses), along with the number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren at no charge.
Couples may add certain information, at the discretion of the editor, for a charge of $25.
For instance, a bride and groom may add grandparents’ names, and couples celebrating an anniversary may list the names of their grandchildren.
Couples should submit high-quality photos or digital photos in JPEG format. Computer prints and laminated photos will not be accepted.
Photos are not returned by mail unless a self-addressed, stamped envelope is provided, but they can be picked up at the Mirror receptionist’s desk, second floor, 301 Cayuga Ave., from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.
