The Bell Telephone Co. Telephone Pioneers Club, Elizabeth Shea president, met in Bellwood to view an “audio ball,” a softball that beeped, developed by Bell scientists, so the blind could play softball.
25 years ago: Jan. 27, 2000
The Galleria Mall, between Frankstown Road and 17th Street, which was proposed by Zamias Development of Johnstown 12 years prior and fell through, was proposed as a shopping mall called Logan Town Centre by a local firm called Morris Management Inc.

Bishop Guilfoyle High, Joan Donnelly principal, had its first virtual education day, working from home on iPads and the internet due to a snow storm. Students had to sign in by 11 a.m. and have work completed by 8 p.m.
