Fish fry dinners available
St. Therese of the Child Jesus Parish, Altoona, will hold Lenten Fish Fry Dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. Fridays during Lent through March 26, at Father Kelley Hall on 25th Avenue and Fifth Street.
The menu includes choice of baked or fried fish, choice of two sides and dessert. Cost is $10 per dinner. Curbside order and delivery service will be from the side door on Fifth Street.
Orders will also be accepted by calling 814-330-9582 or 814-369-0798, with the pickup site approached through the main parking lot of the church to the side lot of Father Kelley Hall.
Ham and cheese sandwich
Christ United Methodist Church, 1359 Pennsylvania Ave., Tyrone, is holding a ham and cheese sandwich sale. The cost is $2.50 per sandwich. Orders need to be placed by March 7. Order must be picked up by noon Wednesday, March 10. Pick up instructions will be given when orders are placed. Submit orders to Sandy Chronister at 814-684-0409.
Champion Life Church will host the third annual Eggstravaganza at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 27. This free family event includes an Easter egg pit, carnival games, a puppet show and visits from the Easter Bunny and some of his friends. Food and drink vendors will be on site. Champion Life Church is at 1314 12th St., Altoona, across from City Hall.

Applications available for Alta Via program
Saint Francis University is accepting application for the Alta Via program. Applicants will be reviewed on an ongoing basis, with priority given to applications submitted before March 31 for the 2021-22 academic year.
The Alta Via program represents one of the more recent investments that Saint Francis has developed related to initiatives designed to support and enhance its Catholic, Franciscan identity.
Created for students hoping to deepen their faith along with pursuing their academic study, Alta Via offers students an intentionally Catholic college experience along with like-minded peers. The Alta Via program comprises both curricular and co-curricular components and includes a scholarship for selected individuals. Program participants build community by living together, participating in community engagement activities and traveling on an international pilgrimage.
