Spaghetti dinner planned
The Altoona Alliance Church will host a spaghetti dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19. The dinners will be take out only. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for kids. The meal includes
spaghetti, meatballs, salad, roll, drink and dessert.
All funds raised will help send local youth to the LIFE 2022 Teen Conference. To reserve a meal, call the church office at 814-944-0171 by Feb. 17.
Youth to host Lenten fish dinner fundraiser
The Second Avenue United Methodist Church youth group will hold its annual fish dinners from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Fridays during Lent, beginning Feb. 19, and excluding Good Friday. This year the meals will be for take out only. Orders can be placed beginning at 4 p.m. Fridays at 814-943-2072. Imposition of ashes
Juniata United Methodist Church will begin the season of Lent on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 17. Iimposition of ashes will be held from noon to 2 and 6 to 8 p.m. accompanied with prayer by the Rev. Julia Piper. This is a drive-thru event and those taking part should enter through the church’s portico entrance.
The church will share in the Altoona District Ash Wednesday Service to be viewed at the viewer’s convenience. Details for this service along with a Lenten meditation can be found on the church’s website or Facebook page.

‘Seek God for the City’ planned
The Altoona Alliance Church will be joining with churches and Christians around the world for the annual “Seek God for the City,” 40 days of prayer to be held Feb. 17 through Palm Sunday, March 28. Participants will be praying daily prayers of Biblical hope for the city, state, nation and world for 40 days. Prayer booklets are available from waymakers.
