Concert planned

Jim Worthing, International recording artist, will present a gospel concert at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, at New Grenada Church of God, 275 Gracey Road, Waterfall. All are welcome.

Free lunches

–Providence Presbyterian Church, 2401 Broad Ave., Altoona, will distribute free bag lunches from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday,

Oct 17. Lunches include a sloppy joe sandwich, a bag of chips, a dessert and fruit. One bag lunch will be handed out per person in the church’s parking lot while supplies last.

–A free lunch, featuring turkey vegetable soup, will be available starting at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Twenty-eighth Street Church of the Brethren, 2800 Union Ave., Altoona. The lunches will be distributed while supplies last.

In addition, the food bank is open every Friday by appointment only. Call 207-8293 for information.

Communion set

The Juniata Church of the Brethren, 306 N. Ninth Ave., Juniata, Altoona, will observe the annual New Testament Communion service at

10:30 a.m. Oct. 18. The Rev. Robert Wharton and the Rev. Billy Aurandt will conduct the service.

Food giveaway

Our Lady of Lourdes on Broad Avenue, Altoona, will host a free food box giveaway from 9 to 11 a.m. every Saturday during October. The giveaway will be held in the parking lot. There are no income guidelines. All are welcome.

The box includes

30.5 pounds of food.

Food pantry

Sacred Heart Food Pantry 2009 Sixth Avenue is open from 10 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. every Wednesday. Everyone is welcome. Currently, no ID or proof of income is needed.
