William Snyder Jr. of Altoona is a former machinist and autobody mechanic who said he began writing books when he was 40, and “got serious” about the craft just 5 years ago.
Snyder said at a young age he had encouragement from a high school teacher and his mother to write.
He began writing when he was 21, selling his first piece to the Pittsburgh Press that year. Snyder said he focused on outdoor writing, selling pieces to Outdoor Life as well as “hundreds of other outdoor publications and newspapers”.
Snyder said he has always had an obsession with mystery books. He said he uses newspaper reports and knowledge of law enforcement to guide his writing. He hopes to continue to focus on the character Detective Hicks for future stories, and said he currently has other books either in the works or awaiting publication.
The book is available on Amazon for $19.95. His work is published by Christian Faith Publishing.
