Clothing, food donations accepted
Donations of clothing and non-perishable foods will be accepted from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, at the Hollidaysburg Church of the Brethren, 1028 Penn St. (Route 36). The church parking lot will serve as a collection site for the American Rescue Workers. You can drop off donations and receive a tax receipt.
Mostoller to speak at Aglow meeting
Altoona Aglow Lighthouse will meet at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, at Gourmet Buffet, 520 W. Plant Road, Altoona. Speaker will be the president of the South Central Area Team, Jackie Mostoller, who will talk about the importance of the fellowship of women.
Canan Station Mennonite Church, 865 Burns Ave., Altoona, has announced that the Aug. 2 event featuring Dr. Dave Kistler has been canceled due to the coronavirus restrictions. For more information, call 695-5437.
Fish dinner planned
A take-out fish dinner will be available from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament Parish. The meal includes beer battered fried fish, macaroni and cheese, cole slaw and a dinner roll. Cost is $7. Tickets can be purchased at weekend masses or from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the church office.

The Twenty-eighth Street Church of the Brethren food pantry is open Fridays by appointment only. For information or an appointment, call Deb at 207-8293.
