Arise convocations set
Reconciliation, forgiveness focus of training
Arise Together in Christ, a renewal program being celebrated throughout the Catholic Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown, will begin its fourth season with a choice to attend one of two diocesan convocations.
Peter Ascosi, assistant director for ChristLife, a Catholic apostolate in Baltimore, will speak on “Friendship with Christ: A Gift to be Shared.” As a ChristLife parish trainer, Ascosi helps to equip Catholic parishes for evangelism.
Milissa Else of Renewal International, provider of the overall program, will give an overview of Arise Season Four during the convocations.
The first gathering will be held from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Jan. 25 at Our Lady of the Alleghenies Church, 608 Main St., Lilly. The second gathering will be held from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Jan 26 at St. Matthew Church, 1105 Cameron St., Tyrone. Doors open 30 minutes prior to the opening prayer. An offering will be taken at each session.
The convocations replace the January training sessions for parish coordinators and small group facilitators. They are also helpful for anyone participating in a small faith-sharing group.
The theme for Arise Season Four is “New Heart, New Spirit.” It explores reconciliation and the transforming power of forgiveness.
Those planning to attend either of the convocations should register online for planning purposes.
To register, visit www

After the convocations, small groups will be held in parishes throughout the diocese where parishioners will participate in faith sharing and take part in measures to live out their faith.
