Local author reading at Hollidaysburg library

Local author Tom Catalano will be reading stories from his newest book, “The Edge of Imagination,” at the Hollidaysburg Public Library, 1 Furnace Road, Scenic Pine Drive (next to the Hollidaysburg Senior High School), at 6 p.m. on Wednesday. Adults and teens are invited. Registration is not necessary and there is no cost to attend.

“The Edge of Imagination” is Catalano’s tenth published book. It contains eleven original short stories of science fiction, mystery, drama and psychological suspense. The stories are not scary, but are reminiscent of “The Twilight Zone.”

Two of the stories in the book have received recognition in science fiction short story competitions.

“Sedate State” focuses on an advertising executive who wrestles with drug dependency in a peculiar near-future society. “Balloon Boy” follows the misadventures of a boy who is in every way normal except he was born with a unique physical condition — he floats.

After his reading, the author will answer questions and sign copies of his books which will be available for purchase.
