Sweet Adelines to perform Nov. 2

The Altoona Chorus of Sweet Adelines International will present its annual show, “Back To Oz” at 7 p.m. Nov. 2 at the Altoona Area Junior High School Auditorium.

This musical comedy will feature the Altoona Chorus, with special guests, Cindy Baney and Tia Williams as the featured characters, Dorothy and the Genie.

In addition, Sounds of Style quartet and the Altoona Horseshoe Chorus will be special guests.

The Horseshoe chorus will perform in tandem with the Sweet Adelines. The chorus will perform songs from several popular Disney movies like “Aladdin” and “Cinderella,” as well as “A Million Dreams” from “The Greatest Showman,” “Over the Rainbow” from “The Wizard of Oz” and “Believe It Or Not” from “The Greatest American Hero.”

Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students age 17 and younger. They are available from any member or by calling Shari at 502-3091, or at the door.

This year the Altoona Chorus celebrates their 65th Anniversary. The chorus was the first chorus chartered in Pennsylvania.

They offer educational opportunities to its members in singing, performing, administration leadership, costuming, marketing, choreography and stage make-up.

This non-profit, educational organization performs for community and private events around the area and competes in a spring competition with other choruses in the international organization.
