Fear ‘N’ Beer set for Oct. 12 at PNG Field

From Mirror News reports

The third annual Fear ‘N’ Beer event features 40-plus brews to sample during a Halloween-themed extravaganza at Peoples Natural Gas Field Oct. 12.

“It’s a spooky and thrilling tasting event,” said Madalyn McCaulley, event specialist with the Altoona Mirror, which co-sponsors the event with Altitude Entertainment, the company’s event arm.

“Each year the enthusiasm and participation has grown and we are looking forward to another great time that benefits a great cause — Mending Hearts Animal Rescue,” she said. Part of the proceeds benefit the rescue organization.

A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit Mending Hearts Animal Rescue. Last year, seven dogs found their forever homes, according to organizers, as part of the event proceeds benefit Mending Hearts. Mending Hearts volunteers and furry companions will be at the event.

A registered nonprofit organization, Mending Hearts Animal Rescue is an all-volunteer animal rescue whose volunteers are dedicated to saving the lives of dogs and cats.Animals come to the rescue because they are no longer able to be cared for by their owners or have been abandoned.

The day offers live music, best costume competitions with prizes plus food trucks, live entertainment and — of course — craft beers, such as Pumpkin Ale from Marzoni’s Brick Oven & Brewing Company.
