Donations of clothing and non-perishable foods will be accepted from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hollidaysburg Church of the Brethren, 1028 Penn St. (Route 36).

The church parking lot will serve as a collection site for the American Rescue Workers. Tax receipts available for those making donations.

Flea Market/Fish Fry will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot at New Creation in Christ Ministry, 1620 16th St., Altoona. Items include clothes, shoes, baby items, home decor and more. Fried fish sandwiches will be available.

Vendor tables are still availlable. Cost is $20 each. For more information or to reserve a table, contact Evangelist Kim Jones at 932-0087.

All table fees benefit the church building fund.

An outdoor Mass honoring married couples with Bishop Mark L. Bartchak, as the celebrant and homilist, will be held at 7 p.m. July 14, at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Alleghenies, Loretto, next to the Basilica of St. Michael.

The general public and married couples are invited. Bring a lawn chair for seating. The Mass will be held in the church if it rains.

Altoona Aglow Lighthouse will meet at

10 a.m. July 13 at Center City Church, 801 Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona. Meetings are in the back room; use the side door entrance.

Speaker will be Hazel Palmer, the author of “God’s Rising Stars” that contains 32 real life experiences of local residents who gained access into the miraculous through faith, beginning with cancer healings and ending with seven people who were raised from the dead. Today, Palmer is the Founder and President of Grace Ministries International Inc., and was commissioned by Chuck Pierce at Glory of Zion in Corinth, Texas in September 2018.

The Faith Baptist Church of Altoona will hold daily vacation Bible school — with classes for the entire family — July 14-18. Classes will range from nursery for the infants, through adults. Everyone is welcome.

Children and youth will meet each night from 6-8:45 p.m. beginning with a free dinner served at 6 p.m. Children age 3 through sixth grade are invited to “Mars and Beyond” to explore where God’s power can take you.

Youth 7th-12th grade will meet for nightly Bible study, songs and games.

The adult class will be held each evening from 7-8:15 p.m., studying “The Book of Revelation in 5 Exciting Sessions” with Dr. Bill Shade of Source of Light Ministries International.
