Nominations open for art hall of fame

Now through May 1, nominations are being accepted for the 2019 Blair County Arts Hall of Fame, according to the Blair County Arts Foundation.

The Blair County Arts Hall of Fame is a partnership between the Blair County Arts Foundation and Allegheny Ridge Corporation, and is a bi-annual event that honors individuals in the categories of Architecture/

Public Art, Literary Arts, Patron(s) of the Arts, Performing Arts and Visual Arts.

Nominees should have made a substantial contribution nationally and regionally to the Arts and the quality of life.

The Blair County Arts Hall of Fame exists to honor past and present Blair County citizens who through their talent, leadership and dedication have enriched the quality of our lives and continue to bring joy and inspiration to many, according to the organization’s website. The honor bestowed upon the inductees convey gratitude for the beauty, heritage, and mastery they have given now and in the future. Through honoring them, the organizations strive create an awareness of the wealth of creativity rooted in Blair County, inspire and encourage others to follow their vision. To nominate an individual, organization, business or group send the following information:

The nominee’s name, full address and telephone number, a summary (not to exceed two pages, single-sided) of the nominee’s contributions, including major works, relevant achievements as related to the category selected. List previous awards, honors and recognitions. Optional, no more than four pages of supporting information (news clippings, reviews, letters of support or printed material).

The person making the nomination must also include his/her name, address, day and evening phone numbers.
