Fear ‘N’ Beer debuts Oct. 14

Whether you are looking for something spooky or something hoppy this October, Fear ‘N’ Beer Brewfest has got you covered.

The first Fear ‘N’ Beer Brewfest will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. at Peoples Natural Gas Field.

“The Altoona Mirror’s Event Marketing team and Altitude Entertain-ment thought it would be fun to team up and do a Halloween-themed craft beer event that would be a lot of fun and would be a first of its kind for our area,” said Candance Holliday, Altoona Mirror event marketing manager.

The event will feature more than 50 craft beers. And there will be food trucks available.

There are two tiers of tickets available: Goblin General Admission for $35 and Vampire VIP for $75, plus box office fees.

Goblin General Admission includes admission to the beer fest at 1 p.m. and a souvenir glass. Vampire VIP passes include admission to the beer fest at noon, a souvenir glass, a parking pass, a catered lunch of appetizers to pair with your beer and a Fear ‘N’ Beer T-shirt.

A portion of the ticket prices will go to Mending Hearts Animal Rescue.

“Mending Hearts Animal Rescue was chosen because of all the wonderful work they do with unconditional love and compassion for displaced animals. They do not have the means to raise funds as often as they need to because they have a very limited staff and often pay out of pocket … to keep the animals heathy and adoptable,” Holliday said.

Tickets go on sale on Monday through the Altoona Curve box office.
