Arts Festivals and Wingfests!

Here is a listing of Altoona area live music happenings for the weekend and week of Friday, July 5 through Thursday, July 11.

Outdoor live music activities continue to provide highlights on the area live music calendar, as various carnivals, festivals and other outdoor happenings prosper during this time of year.

Arts Festival weekend in Centre County is on the horizon, with both the 53rd annual Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts in State College and the 27th annual People’s Choice Festival of Pennsylvania Arts & Crafts in Boalsburg getting under way in the coming week. The festivities start at 5 p.m. and admission is free. Felix & the Hurricanes will also play the Wing Festival finale on August 22…Meanwhile, the second round of the Tussey Wingfest happens Thursday at Tussey Mountain Amphitheater, as local eateries present their chicken wing flavors with audience votes determining the preliminary round winners, with the finals happening on August 15. This week, PA rock legends Hybrid Ice headline, with State College favorites Spider Kelly opening. Admission is $5 per person (kids 12 and under are free).
