Titans Of Rock, Patton Firemen’s Jubilee This Weekend!

Here is a listing of Altoona area live music happenings for the weekend and week of Friday, June 7 through Thursday, June 13.

Among the live music activities this weekend is Friday night’s second installment of this year’s Alive at Five Summer Concert Series at the Railroaders Museum, featuring Titans Of Rock. This group will perform tributes to two 1980s classic rock hitmakers, Journey and Bon Jovi. Opening will be popular longtime Altoona classic rockers Half Tempted. Tickets will be available at the gate for $15 per person.

Also happening this weekend is the annual Patton Firemen’s Jubilee in front of the Patton Fire Company in downtown Patton. The weekend’s itinerary includes a motorcycle cruise-in and corn hole tournament on Friday night, a community parade on Saturday evening, car cruise-in on Sunday, firemen-themed games and children’s activities, food, refreshments, and live music. Friday night will feature acoustic music followed by P.T. Cruisers, while acoustic music returns on Saturday afternoon followed by Giants Of Science on Saturday night. Admission to the festivities is free.

And if you are up for a roadtrip over the mountain to Johnstown this weekend, the Johnstown Area Heritage Association presents the first concert in this year’s Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield Free Concert Series. Headlining will be Brooklyn-based rock, funk and soul band The National Reserve, with Felix & the Hurricanes opening. The music starts at 7 p.m., and admission is free.

For outdoor shows, in the event of inclement weather, please call or use social media to check ahead to make sure the show is still taking place, especially if you are driving any distance to attend.

Check out and support the area live music! And if you celebrate heavily while doing so, please designate a sober driver or call a taxi to get you home.
