Cernic concedes 35th Senate race to Langerholc
Pennsylvania Republicans have picked up a long-coveted state Senate seat.
Democratic candidate Ed Cernic Jr. conceded the state Senate’s 35th district seat around 10 p.m. Tuesday to Republican Wayne Langerholc Jr., a Richland Township supervisor and Cambria County assistant district attorney.
Incumbent Sen. John Wozniak, D-Cambria announced unexpectedly in August that he would not seek re-election after winning the April primary, giving Cernic just 88 days to campaign. Wozniak had held the seat for close to 20 years.
Langerholc was not immediately available for comment.
