John and Joan Camberg

Mr. and Mrs. John “Jack” Camberg of Altoona celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family trip to see “Phantom of the Opera” in New York City.

This was a return trip to the city where they honeymooned.

They were married June 8, 1963, at the Fruit Hill Presbyterian Church in New Millport, by the Rev. Richard C. Austin.

Mrs. Camberg is the former Joan Witherow.

The couple have two daughters: Jean Nibbelink of Leesburg, Va., and Jennifer Moore of Palmyra.

They also have five grandchildren.

Mr. Camberg retired as telecommunications manager from Ward Trucking Corp., Altoona.

Mrs. Camberg retired as a mathematics teacher from the Altoona Area School District.

Both are members of the Providence Presbyterian Church, Altoona.

They enjoy their annual trip to Bradenton, Fla., for Pittsburgh Pirates spring baseball training.
