Cecere, Forest Hills down Westmont
Area football
JOHNSTOWN — Adam Cecere ran for 188 yards and threw for 174 to lead Forest Hills to a 28-14 victory over host Westmont Hilltop in high school football action on Saturday.
Cecere rushed for touchdown runs of 5, 9 and 12 yards and also threw a 22-yard touchdown pass.
Forest Hills jumped out to a 12-0 lead, but Westmont bounced back with two touchdown runs from Camden Moors to take a 14-12 lead.
The Rangers then regained control of the game in the third quarter with two touchdowns. Forest Hills improved to 7-2.
“To be honest with you, I’d rather not play them in the (District 6 3A) playoffs,” Rangers coach Don Bailey said of the Hilltoppers. “But you have to play whoever lines up with you, and if they finish third and we finish second, we’re going to see each other in two weeks.
“Westmont is a very good football team. They run a double wing offense, which is very run heavy, and it’s very hard to advance. They’ve got some good running backs, they got a quick fullback and they get an extra blocker every time with the golden back. We were pleased with the way we played, but Westmont’s a very good football team.”
