MOUNT UNION — Quinton Posey scored on a 57-yard touchdown run at the start of the fourth quarter that would have tied the game at 21, but Mount Union missed the ensuing extra point and West Branch would hung on to beat the Trojans.

Warriors running back Derek Yingling rushed for 229 yards on 36 carries and two touchdowns. Posey was 16-for-23 for 174 yards passing and had 15 carries for 83 yards.

JOHNSTOWN — Adam Cecere ran for three touchdowns and passed for another while setting a Forest Hills school record for career passing yards as the Rangers topped Bishop McCort.

Cecere passed Brandon Bailey, the current Richland coach and son of Forest Hills’ coach Don Bailey, on a 41-yard touchdown pass to Forrest Wolfhope that made the score 21-0.

Jake Shope added a 14-yard touchdown run to cap the scoring.

Will Miller had a 46-yard touchdown run for the Crimson Crushers. The Rangers improved to 3-2.

MARION CENTER — Junior running back Garrett Wells rushed for 170 yards on 34 carries and scored four touchdowns as Marion Center knocked Northern Cambria from the unbeaten ranks.

The Stingers held a 14-0 halftime advantage after two long first-half touchdown drives.

Northern Cambria cut its deficit to 14-6 after three quarters, but Marion Center had an answer for each of the Colts’ second-half touchdowns.

Northern Cambria quarterback Mark Marino completed 5-of-13 passes and was picked off four times, but senior running back Ben Vasil rushed for 116 yards and one score.

Marion Center improved to 2-3.
