Bishop Carroll 19

East Hardy, W.Va. 13

BAKER, W.Va. — Jake Zazvrskey’s quarterback sneak from a yard out gave Bishop Carroll Catholic a victory over East Hardy, W.Va.

Zazvrskey finished with 130 yards rushing.

Jarrett Grove and Trevor Hogue each had a pair of rushing touchdowns earlier in the game as the Huskies built a 13-0 lead.

West Virginia overtime rules mean the teams start from the 20-yard line instead of the 10 in overtime. The Huskies held East Hardy to a four-and-out on the first possession before winning moments later.

Hogue had a 16-yard run to set up the game-winner.

“It’s a big thing, a confidence booster for these boys,” Bishop Carroll coach Sean Billings said. “This is a different team this year, and they have a goal in mind. They want to start something, and they are coming together. They see that they got a good victory over a good team, but they are not satisfied. This is just the start of something special for this group.”

Grove finished with 95 yards, and Hogue rushed for 73 yards.

A complete box score was unavailable to the Mirror at press time.
